CONTRAINDICTATIONS TO MEDIK808™ Triple Wave-Length Diode Laser HAIR REMOVAL
The following conditions may prevent treatment or require postponement until it is safe to proceed. Please advise your practitioner if any of the following apply.
Temporary Contraindications (Treatment Should Be Postponed)
Recent Sun Exposure or Tanning
· Natural sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanning products within the recommended waiting period.
· Recently tanned skin contains increased melanin, which significantly increases the risk of burns, blistering, pigmentation changes, and other adverse reactions.
Photosensitizing Medications Examples include, but are not limited to:
· Isotretinoin (Accutane)
· Certain antibiotics
· Retinoids
· St. John's Wort
· Other medications known to increase light sensitivity
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding Laser hair reduction is generally not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding as a precaution due to hormonal changes and the limited safety data available.
Active Skin Infection, Open Wounds or Inflammation Treatment should not be performed over:
· Active bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
· Open wounds
· Rashes
· Inflamed or irritated skin
· Severe acne flare-ups within the treatment area
Recent Chemical Peels or Skin Resurfacing Recently treated skin may be more sensitive to laser energy. Treatment should be delayed until the skin has fully healed.
Recent Waxing, Tweezing or Epilation Laser treatment targets the hair follicle. Hair must remain intact for effective treatment. Waxing, tweezing, threading or depilatory creams should be avoided for approximately 4–6 weeks before treatment.

· History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
· Poor wound healing
· History of herpes simplex (cold sores) within the treatment area
· Autoimmune disorders affecting the skin
· Uncontrolled diabetes
· Epilepsy or photosensitive seizure disorders
· History of skin cancer or pre-cancerous lesions in the treatment area
· Any chronic medical condition that may impair healing or increase treatment risk

Medication Considerations

Tattoos and Permanent Makeup
Diode laser treatment must not be performed directly over tattoos or permanent makeup, as the laser energy may react with pigment and cause burns, blistering, pigment alteration, or damage to the tattoo. Treatment areas containing tattoo pigment will be carefully avoided.
